EDS has 6 contractor openings for Mainframe programmers.  They must have Cobol, ACL/Assembler and JCL.  These are 6 month contracts and can work in multiple locations.  If they are strong enough they may be able to work from home. They will hire off the phone. 

 

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder

 

Locations:

Is there flexibility in the geographic location of this position? Yes. 

Location of position:  Plano TX,  Camp Hill PA ,  Des Moines IA  or  E Hartford CT

Duration: 6 Months

Description: 

Information Analyst/Programmer

 

Skills:

COBOL – 5 or more years with recent experience

ALC  - 5 or more years; no more than 5 years since last utilized

JCL – 5 or more years

CICS – nice to have, not a requirement

IBM Mainframe platform, MVS operating system, TSO/ISPF

Healthcare claims processing system support experience a plus

 

Role:

Position is in support of the Medicare Part B Standard Systems Consolidation Contract and the project will encompass approximately 20,000 hours of systems maintenance, definition, development and testing activities per quarter throughout the contract life.  Role involves performing system maintenance in a rigorous, high-maturity environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Gain understanding of user requirements and high level design

Create detailed technical design deliverables

Construct coding changes to modules and JCL

Unit test modules

Update run books

Update technical specifications

Create work product review packets and obtain sign-off

Fix defects

Perform implementation activities

Fix PROBLEMS

Provide weekly individual status report to communicate progress versus schedule, successes, and needs
